You’re Not Alone

Welcome to Evive! Take a guided tour and learn everything Evive has to offer.

You’re Not Alone

You’re Not Alone

Millions of people from all walks of life struggle with gambling.  Most people with mild to moderate gambling issues never seek help.  Even among those whose gambling has created serious problems, research shows that only about 1 in 5 ever seek help.

So, welcome to the elite club of people ready to stop gambling, and lift the weight of gambling harm from their lives.

If you’ve tried to stop previously, but found yourself back at the slot machine, card table, sports-betting app, or any of the other many opportunities to make a bet, you’re not alone.  Research shows that about 70% of those who attempt to stop return to gambling within a year.

Many of us who attempt to stop gambling experience these white-knuckle battles between that voice in our head that says:

“gambling is a problem for me, I shouldn’t do it”

and that voice that says:

“just one more little bet…”

It can leave us feeling like a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off!

The good news is, Evive can help!

We’re going to teach you how to diffuse that bomb, and take back control for good.

How Evive Works

Part 1: Make a Plan

First, we’re going to build an Action Plan together.  These are the immediate and practical steps we’re going to take to stop gambling.  It will give us the space we need to create and implement our long-term strategy for change.

Part 2: Understand Your Personal Relationship with Gambling

Next, we’re going to help you explore how gambling shows up in your life.  Problem gambling can hurt a lot more than your finances.  It can affect your mental health, your physical health, and your relationships with others.  Once you fully understand the impact of your gambling, we can start to repair the damage.

Part 3: Learn How to Manage Urges

There are many different triggers that can lead us to want to gamble.  Once you identify your triggers, we can develop tools to manage and control our urge to gamble.

Part 4: Connect with a Community

Many people suffer the effects of problem gambling in silence.  That is a miserable and isolating experience.  Starting now, you’re no longer alone in this.  You are officially a member of the Evive Community, full of other people on the same journey.  They are here to give and receive support, celebrate milestones, and actively improve our lives.  We will also help you strengthen your own support network, and engage your friends and family to help support you if and when you’re ready for that.

Part 5: Analyze Behavior and Track Progress

Throughout all of this, we’re going to help you monitor your behavior and track your progress.  You’ll start to recognize patterns in your own behavior, and begin to see how everything is connected.  These insights will help you stay on the path to lasting change.

Part 6: Additional Resources

Evive is just one tool, but there are many other resources that may be helpful for you.  As we better understand your needs, we can recommend resources you may want to explore such as:

  • Accessing publicly supported services in your state

  • Planning for financial recovery after problem gambling

  • Implementing blocking software

  • Enrolling in Voluntary Self-Exclusion Programs

  • Finding peer-support groups in your area

  • Connecting with a therapist or counselor specializing in problem gambling

Your Commitment

You’ve now seen what Evive has to offer.  Let’s talk about what we need from you.  As you’ll learn, the key to lasting behavior change is incremental progress and consistency.  Evive is not a magic bullet, it only works if you work with it.

Every day, we’ll ask you to complete the Daily Check-In.  This will improve your self-awareness and help you understand how to better manage your urges.  It’s one of the most powerful aspects of Evive, and we highly encourage you to commit to doing it every day for maximum results.

Each day, we will also recommend an optional interactive lesson.  These recommendations are customized to you, and based on the information you provide during onboarding, through your Daily Check-Ins, and via surveys we’ll occasionally ask you to complete.  They only take about 5 minutes to complete, and will give you the knowledge you need to live a life free from gambling harm.  Improving your knowledge around gambling, behavior change, and coping strategies is essential to achieve your goals.

Aside from that, we encourage you to use your Toolkit anytime you have an urge to gamble, need a pick-me-up, or are looking for other resources to aid you in your journey.

Finally, the Evive Community is available any time you need support or encouragement from other community members on the same journey as you.  Remember, you are not alone in this.
