Client FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions from Clients

A ready-to-use FAQ covering the most common client questions — confidentiality, cost, abstinence requirements, crisis use, and Evive's relationship to therapy.

How to Use This Resource

Review these questions before introducing Evive to clients. You don't need to memorize the answers — but knowing they exist, and knowing you can speak to them, will make your introduction more confident and credible.

Q: Is this confidential?

  • A: Yes. Your activity on Evive is private. It is not connected to your insurance, your employer, or your clinical records. Your provider cannot see what you do in the app. The only people with access to your individual data are you and the Evive platform itself — and Evive does not sell or share your data with gambling operators or third parties.

Q: Do I have to stop gambling to use it?

  • A: No. Evive has a pathway specifically for people who want to manage their gambling — not necessarily stop. You choose the path that reflects your actual goals, and you can change it as your situation evolves.

Q: What if I'm not ready to commit to anything?

  • A: That's okay. A lot of people start with Evive exactly where you are. You don't have to commit to a goal to get value from it. Some people just explore the content and see what resonates. There's no right way to use it.

Q: Is this therapy?

  • A: No. Evive is a digital platform that offers structured content and peer support — it is not a substitute for therapy. Think of it as a resource you can use between sessions to practice and stay connected to your goals. It works best alongside, not instead of, the work you're doing here.

Q: What does it cost?

  • A: Evive is free for everyone, worldwide. There's no subscription, no access code, and no cost — ever.

Q: What if I'm struggling and need to talk to someone right now?

  • A: Evive is not a crisis service. If you're in immediate distress, please reach out to the 1-800-GAMBLER helpline, a crisis text line, or your provider directly. Evive can be a resource for ongoing support, but it is not the right tool for an acute crisis.
